Introduction

Caring is considered to be a human behaviour and it includes affective, cognitive, administrative and psychomotor skills that must be expressed by the individual. It is considered to be a vital resource with the technical area of the intensive care unit. Nursing is considered to be a nurturing profession and caring is considered to be an important part of nursing. It is a holistic practice that helps the critically ill patients in an effective way. Caring is considered substantive, unique, existing and developing knowledge in nursing. When nurses displays empathy, they try to foster collaborative relationship with the patients and thus this helps in rooting out the different causes, symptoms and provide proper explanation that will result in better treatment and proper diagnosis (Morton, et al., 2017). Reflection on the image and how caring will affect me as a nurse in future

In the above image, an image of an old lady who has been hospitalised is visualised. The nurse, as shown in the image is giving medicine to the old lady with a glass of water. The old lady is in a confused state of mind and enquiring how long she has to continue this medicine. Therefore, the above diagram clearly visualizes the role of nurses in the life of the patients. Caring patients is not only considered to be a medical aspect of nursing. However, in certain cases, the patients might experience stress about their condition, injuries, surgery or recovery and it is necessary to take proper care of them at the right time. There must be open communication between the patients and the nurses and this will result in positive outcome. I think this will lower the anxiety and thus alleviate the pain. According to me, I think that the patients must never compromise their dignity and it is the responsibility of a nurse to avoid unnecessary errors and sufferings of the patients.

Developing individual philosophies in beginning my career as a nurse

According to Watson’s caring theory, there are certain caritas factors that help in maintaining and building further relationships with the patients. As a nurse, it is my responsibility to be present always and thus show supportive care to the patients without crossing the intimacy boundaries or showing them any judgement. It is my responsibility to develop transpersonal caring relationship and thus make moral commitment so that it becomes easier to connect to the patients. The carative factors described by Watson must help in cultivating the different practices of kindness, equanimity and love towards one-self and others. It is also necessary to be authentically present and thus enable and honour the hope, faith and the deep belief system that are considered subjective to an individual. I will try to engage myself in the artistry of the caritas processes and thus try to be involved in the genuine process of teaching and learning experiences that will help me to develop the subjective meaning in a much clearer way. I think satisfying the patients is my major responsibility and this is considered to be an important factor that will help in checking the quality and the efficiency process of the healthcare system. This satisfaction of the patients is related to the safety of the patients because it plays an important role in influencing them in the health services and thus adhering to the different compliance with the prescribed treatment (Smith & Parker, 2015).
According to the Standard of Practices of the Registered Nurses, it is vital to articulate the expectations of the public and thus describes the role of nurse in any domestic environment. It also serves as a legal reference to describe the different nursing practices. It is my responsibility to understand the different standards and thus apply them accordingly regardless of the practice settings. I must identify the needs of the clients, understand their needs and language and thus focus on their culture. It is also my duty to support the clients in self-management of the health care practices and this can be done through provision of proper information (Dellefield, et al., 2015). On the other hand according to evidence based practices, it is my responsibility to remain engaged with the researcher clients as well as with the patients and thus help+ them in the decision making process in the clinical setting. I must try to remain engaged keeping in view the perspectives of the clients. This will help me in providing high quality treatment and decrease in the unwarranted variation that are widely in practice (LoBiondo-Wood & Haber, 2017).
According to the person centred care, it is my responsibility to check that the health services are utilised by the patients in an effective way and this will help in proper developing, monitoring and planning to fulfil the needs of the patients (Eaton, Roberts & Turner, 2015). It is my responsibility to take into consideration the desires, values and the social circumstances of a patient and thus help them and give them proper solutions. Therefore, I must try to co-ordinate and provide them better care and support services. This will motivate me to work with them and thus share information in the right way. On the other hand, according to the five steps of nursing process, I will try to conduct each and every step very crucially. My motive will lie in assessing and gathering the physiological and the psychological status of the patient and them take proper steps for diagnosis. This will help me to determine the readiness and the improvement in the patient’s health and thus I can take the appropriate planning actions accordingly. I must try to implement and evaluate each step in a proper way so that the outcomes are fulfilled in the right way (Morton, et al., 2017).

Conclusion

Therefore, it can be said that as a nurse, it is my responsibility to use holistic care of nursing to nursing that will help in enriching the lives of the patients as well as enriching our own life also. As a nurse, it is my responsibility to promote emotional and psychological wellbeing of the patient to promote physical healing. It is also necessary to develop better relationship with the patients and thus it will increase my happiness when I will be working as a nurse. Therefore, I must try to assist the patients and will see them as individuals who deserve dignity and respect.
