KNOWLEDGE AUDITS FOR BUSINESS

Design Thinking

There are specifically five items that have been chosen to elaborate upon in this e-portfolio, that are basically stages that design thinking needs to be carried through (interaction-design.org, 2018). They are the five stages of design thinking. They are as follows:
Empathize

Based on Figure 1, the main idea is to look at the problem through the perspectives of other people involved in an accounting problematic event. There is also a need to make sure that all possible people is covered and empathized with before proceeding with the next step of thinking of a design.
Discussion
The main themes that need to be covered in this stage of design thinking include various ways in which these participants, of that problematic event, are approached (Geissdoerfer et al. 2016). This method of approaching these people implies whether or not they will abide by things told to them.
Reflection
I have learnt that no matter however the participants are of that problematic event, stability and courtesy needs to be maintained while trying to understand needs through their perspectives.

Define

Based on Figure 2, the main idea is to make plans about what exactly has been deduced about a particular accounting problematic event.
Discussion
The main action that should be taken in this stage of design thinking is that conclusions need to be drawn about what exactly has happened in that event. According to Liedtka (2015), this can be deduced out of things that are based on varying perspectives that had been obtained from participants of that event. This will make it possible to gain a proper view on things that need to be carried out henceforth to solve the accounting problem.
Reflection
I can deduce that definition of the situation needs to be done by keeping in mind that various perspectives may vary. Despite this, I need to come up with a rigid idea that covers the entire accounting problem completely.

Ideate

Based on Figure 3, the main idea is that imagination needs to be made active of those that are involved in the solving of the accounting problem of a business that has been identified.
Discussion
The main things that needs to be put to action in this stage is that certain actions, that need to be done, are supposed to be mapped out with a clear outline. According to Geissdoerfer et al. (2016), this is needed because without a planned outline, things that need to be done will suffer the consequences of not being done on time and within the specified time limit so as to permit the next step to take place.
Reflection
I can conclude that imagination, of certain things that can be done in order to solve the problem, needs to be done well before time to prevent any possibilities of harmful delay.

Prototype

Rich Picture

Based on Figure 4, the main idea is to construct a preliminary action based on which all succeeding actions will be carried out.
Discussion
The main action that needs to be taken is to bring into being such an action that will make it possible to have all succeeding actions to successfully be carried out. According to Yip et al. (2015), this will be able to take place if the foundation or base of all actions is strong enough. This will make it possible to be assured that all succeeding steps will not fall apart.
Reflection
I can conclude that having a strong base will make it possible to be assured that all possible steps, that will follow, will be able to be done without delay.

Test

Rich Picture

Based on Figure 5, the main idea is to test the steps that had been decided upon in the previous stage.
Discussion
The main action is to carry out a pilot study of the steps that have been decided upon. This needs to be done by carrying out steps, as decided, in such a manner that conclusions can be drawn from the fact that whether or not those steps are worthy of working with (Liedtka, 2015).
Reflection
I can deduce that a pilot study will make it possible to prove whether or not the steps that are decided upon are considerable.
