  • Attendance

Students are expected to attend all class meetings since they are deemed critical to their educational success. In the event of a student missing a class meeting, the student is responsible for contacting the faculty member and informing them of the reason for the absence. Absences result in a loss of credit for any activity completed during class time, and multiple absences may result in a grade reduction.

  • Schedule Adjustment Period (Add/Drop Deadline)

The deadline to change a student's schedule by adding or deleting a course is 11:59 p.m. on Sunday of the first week of classes. The student must submit the Add/Drop Form before the deadline to add or drop a course.

Dropping a course after the deadline is referred to as a Course Withdrawal. An absence occurs when a student skips a class due to a scheduling change. The absence(s) in the first week does not count towards total absences for new students accepted after the first class meeting(s), as per the attendance policy.

  • Absences

Westcliff University requires all students to attend classes on a regular basis in order to get the most out of their education. Unexcused absences are defined as notices of absences that have not been received or approved by the Administration. Each student i:s only allowed one excused absence per course.

  • Evaluating Attendance Percentage

By dividing the total number of hours attended by the total number of hours scheduled, the attendance percentage is calculated.
