Professional evaluation of a Manager of Goldcorp Inc.
The manager has been in this profession for more than ten years, and he uses public speaking as a part of his profession on a daily basis as he has to manage a team of more than 500 people (some of them are located at different geographical locations).

Content- The content used by the manager was well planned, and he opened and closed his content of speech successfully. Before starting his discussion, he listed the main points that were to be discussed in the session and, in the end, all the main points were briefed again. The content was delivered as per the structure, and various sources were used to explain the important concepts. The examples were well cited too; they were relevant and easy to understand. It takes time for speeches to be effective and this manager is experienced, so his content seemed to be effective. The flow of content delivery was maintained too. He was not referring to any notes while giving the speech but used various data sources and presentations. It was easy to pick out the main points and follow them.

Verbal Delivery- He was fluent in delivering the speech. The pauses were put at right places and at the correct time of the speech. The rate of delivery was such that the content was understood clearly, and the language was also understood by the receivers properly. He was using various voice modifications to put emphasis on some areas of this speech, and the delivery was well articulated. Due to his way of speaking, the audience was moving along with the speaker and they were well connected with him. He had the skill of storytelling and hence transmitted the vision of speech to the audience effectively. He also drew his personal experiences to explain few concepts and for making a memorable and lasting impact on others. Employees seemed to follow his words.

Nonverbal Delivery- The way in which the manager used his nonverbal part while delivering is appreciable. His facial expressions weren’t too loud or light. He maintained the calmness on his face very appropriately. He used PowerPoint presentations to explain the content and his interaction with the aid was well coordinated. He continuously maintained eye contact with the audience and made his audience very comfortable. His stance, postures and gestures showed that he had too much of knowledge that he wished to deliver and that he was there for a purpose. He used his hands to point out the major things and he were walking all around the room while delivering so that he gets connected with all people in the room.

Interaction- The discussion was two-way. Both the receiver and sender discussed the topic and cleared their doubts. Sometimes the situation of debate was also created. The quality if the discussion was good. The interactions were relevant, as per the issue and added value to the seminar. Whatever doubts were raised by the employees, it was answered by the manager appropriately. The interactions provided the employees with various opportunities to discuss new ideas and to listen to the viewpoints of others. Some questions that were raised in the discussion had a potential for more than one answer, but the manager explained all sides of answers and cleared all the confusion and doubts of the people.
