Research problem

In this study, it was found that the project teams in health sector performed below the expectations of the management. This usually causes huge damage to the whole healthcare industry. Due to their poor performance, the organization is not able to attain their predetermined objectives. Project work is considered essential for the improvement of the healthcare organizations but only if it is done in a proper manner. Otherwise, it impacts the project management and collaboration in a significant manner.

Research design approach

In this study, for solving the problem, the authors studied the various literature of different authors related to their study. Behind studying the literature review, the main objective of the authors was to know about the previous studies and their results which helped them in developing hypotheses and conducting their further research. For finding solutions, the researchers designed 14 interpersonal teams (consisting of 94 individuals in total). Three half-day training were provided to the teams which were integrated with collaboration and project management. For measuring the possible outcomes, various hypotheses were developed by the researchers. First hypothesis was related to whether the training is able to derive satisfaction and high perception of utility. Second hypothesis was whether the training would elicit self-efficiency for components of teamwork and task-work. Third hypothesis was whether the implicit coordination and goal clarity would increase as a function of training. The last and final hypotheses set by the researchers was whether the gain in project management self-efficiency following the training would measure the project performance above and over team performance and self-efficiency (Chiocchio,2015). These hypotheses helped the researcher in finding the effective solutions for the problem. 

Research method

In this paper, the researchers used the primary methods as well as the secondary methods (only for reviewing the literatures) for collecting the required data for conducting research. The researchers collected the data by distributing questionnaire to the 94 training respondents who were divided into 14 project teams (the teams were distributed in five locations of a multi-facility hospital in various countries like, Canada, etc). Questionnaires were distributed three times, the first was before project start-up, second was during the project and the third was at the end of the project by electronic medium to respondents. The performance of the team members was also judged by observing their reactions, self-efficiency, goal clarity, and their team performance. 

How the research solved the problem

After collecting all the required data, it was analyzed by the researcher to find the best solution for their problem. Data was analyzed by using t-tests, mean comparisons and by analysis of variance. By conducting analysis, the researchers found that training to members of different team affects the overall performance of the healthcare organization in a positive manner (Haff, 2015). Training to team members enhances the knowledge and skills of the employees which ultimately improve their work performance.

Through this paper, I learned a lot about the impacts of training on performance of a particular project team. If I am working as a manager of a particular organization, and I found various problems related to the performance of team members, in that situation I can apply the knowledge gained through this study (Phillips, 2016).
